Polygraph Examinations or "Lie Detector Tests" can be used in a variety of
ways to resolve important issues for our clients.  A polygraph examination
can  verify the truthfulness of a statement, or the veracity of a witness and  
is used by individuals, business owners/employers, attorneys, and
professional counselors/clinicians along with supervision officers  for the
treatment and monitoring of individuals on active probation or parole.  
What is a Polygraph?

The word polygraph literally means, "little writings."  During a "lie detector
test" utilizing a polygraph instrument, the examinee's physiological patterns
are captured either using an analog or computer aided polygraph instrument.  
The examinee's respiratory (breathing) patterns, blood pressure, pulse rate,
and electrodermal (sweat gland) activity is simultaneously and visually
recorded.  Additional  physiological tracing patterns may be recorded.  

There are three phases of a polygraph examination.

1.  Pre-test Phase
2.  In-test Phase
3.  Post-test Phase

Properly conducted, a polygraph examination should take a minimum of 90
minutes.

Correctly administered, a lie detector test utilizing the polygraph examination,
can be 90% to 94% accurate when a trained polygraph examiner uses a
reliable and validated testing format.  Texas Polygraph Services exclusively
utilizes testing formats that are used extensively by the United States
Government.
